Service Advisor – Financial Services

The Service Advisor in our Financial Services department is responsible for providing our clients with coverages like Life Insurance, Disability, and Long-Term Care Insurance. While these coverages are important, they’re often overlooked because they are not required like some other insurance policies – but are the cornerstone of any responsible financial plan. As the Service Advisor, you’ll play an essential role in advising our clients on these policies and coverages.

This position is part-time, working approximately 20 hours per week. The role will be primarily based in Chatham during the initial training period, with the opportunity for remote work flexibility once trained if desired

In this role, you will:

  • Advise and provide high quality service to clients Life, Disability, and Long-Term Care Insurance needs
  • Communicate with clients over phone, email, and in person
  • Identify client needs and proactively recommend additional products and coverages when appropriate
  • Properly prepare quotes and present to the client
  • Follow all necessary agency procedures and maintain high underwriting standards to best serve our clients
  • Work collaboratively as a part of a team to fulfill the needs of our clients
  • Effectively manage your time to provide client deliverables quickly and efficiently

Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service, interacting with customers over email, phone, and/or in person
  • Ability to learn quickly, from understanding agency processes and procedures to adeptly utilizing our Agency Management Software system (Applied Epic)
  • Eagerness to work in a team environment
  • Superior multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working in the Insurance industry is a bonus, but not required
  • Currently hold a Life & Health License, or ability to pass licensing exam within first 60 days of starting the position. If not currently licensed, MetzWood will pay for cost of licensing course and provide time during normal working hours to complete necessary training
